Fritters are great appetizer, finger food. Usually consumed as snacks or breakfast. This fritters are made of conch , veggies and some amount of spices. Variations occurs while adding more veggies and spice combinations.

What does a conch fritter taste like?

Conch is shellfish with rich amount of protein, it taste like soft and can me made spicy or chruchy by adjusing spices or deep frying by dipping in flour solution.

How do you get a conch out of its shell?

Rinse the conch shell in tap or warm water. Now,  find the mid- partition and try to pull it on opposite sides to open. Sometimes its difficult to open because of suction for that drill small hole to break suction and then try to open it.

Ingredients for Conch Fritters

  • 1 pound  Conch (fresh)
  • ½ scotch Bonnet
  • ½ cup Spanish Onion (minced)
  • 1 stalk Celery
  • ½ Bell Pepper green (minced)
  • ½ Bell Pepper red (minced)
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¾ teaspoon  Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon  Cracked Black Pepper (fresh )
  • ½ teaspoon  Curry Powder
  • ½ cup Club Soda
  • ½ cup Beer (Optional)

Instructions

How to make Conch Fritters

  • Take a sauce pan and heat the oil until it reaches 350 °C.
  • Likewise, take a bowl, merge the conch meat, bell peppers, garlic, spices and veggies.
  • Take a measuring cup, mix the egg. Moreover, add the mixture of egg to the conch mixture and stir well.
  • Likewise, add salt and celery as per the quantities mentioned above.
  • Make balls of the batter and pour the same into the hot oil.
  • Make sure to cook one side of the fritter at least 5 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  • Remove fritters on a paper to drain the same. 
  • Furthermore, make all the fritters and serve the same with lime juice, sauce and mayo.
