Chocolate chip cupcake with vanilla frosting is one of my favourite go-to desserts or a tea snack. Although there are many ways to make a cupcake, today I am going to show you how to make an eggless, vegan cupcake. A chocolate chip cupcake is a classic English dessert. However, most people mistake it for a Muffin. further, I will elaborate on the key difference between a muffin and a classic cupcake as you read. By all means, cupcakes are easy party food. You can make them at home using simple ingredients.

In history, there is no single inventor of a chocolate chip cupcake. It was passed down through generations and families with their recipes. Though there are over a million ways to make a chocolate chip cupcake, one of the classic ways is to bake one is with vanilla frosting. These days, finding vegan, eggless cupcake recipes is not that hard but finding the one that works is!
Although Cupcake frosting can be different types, today we opted for a classic yet delicious cupcake frosting; Vanilla. I am not only going to show you how to make chocolate chip cupcakes but also your own piping bag with minimal equipment. for instance, all you need is a zip lock bag, a rubber band and a pair of scissors.

Chocolate Chip Cupcake with Vanilla Frosting
Equipment Required
- 1 Oven
- 1 Cupcake Baking Tray
- 6 Cupcake paper
- 1 Piping bag
Ingredients
- ½ Cup Vegan chocolate chips (found widely in retail stores, if you do not find them, you can sip using chocolate chips or vegan chocolate shavings. )
- 250 ml Soy milk
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 6 tbsp Oil (I recommend using sunflower oil)
- 1 cup All purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Baking soda
- 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Vanilla butter cream (you can find this at you retail store or order online)
- ¼ cup Powdered sugar (If you do not have powdered sugar, you can just grind normal sugar. )
Instructions
- To make chocolate chip cupcakes, pre heat the oven at 180o C for 10 minutes
- Next, take a bowl mix the soy milk and the lemon juice. This mixture will act as your substitute of buttermilk. Let it rest for five minutes.
- Now, take another bowl, add 250 grams of flour, 1/2 tbsp of baking powder and 150 grams of powdered sugar. Next, add the mixture you made earlier, 5 tbsp of oil and mix well so that there are no lumps.
- Now add vegan chocolate shavings or chocolate chips to your batter and pour them the cupcake mould.
- Transfer the cupcake mould into the baking tray and bake it for 20 minutes.
- to check if the cupcakes are done, put a sewer through. if it comes out clean, that means the chocolate chip cupcakes are done.
- Now for the frosting, to ½ cup of vanilla cream, add 1 tbsp of vanilla extract and 500 grams for powdered sugar. mix it well until it is smooth.
- After your cupcakes are done, take them out and pipe the frosting on the chocolate chip cupcakes using the piping bag.
- Enjoy the chocolate chip cupcakes with some tea!

How to making a piping bag for vanilla frosting for chocolate chip cupcakes :
If you do not have a piping bag and don’t feel like buying one solely for this recipe, by all means, this hack is for you! in this case, take a ziplock bag and add your frosting to it. Now, gather all the frosting to the tip of the ziplock, creating a cone. With this in mind, tie an elastic bag on the upper end of the zip lock to secure the bag and make a cone. Now that you secured the bag, take a pair of scissors and cut the end of the bag to create a pattern or just plain works. This is a fun and simple way to make a piping bag at home to help make your chocolate chip cupcakes better!
Difference between Cupcake and Muffin
Although a cupcake and a muffin might look similar, they are entirely different desserts. According to differencebetween, there are some key differences to a cupcake and a muffin. However, I am going to highlight a few of them here for you to easily differentiate between a cupcake and a muffin.
- You can differentiate between a cupcake and a muffin just by looking at them. A cupcake has a smaller top compared to its bottom whereas, a muffin has a significantly larger and puffier top compared to its bottom.
- Cupcakes, for instance, the chocolate chip cupcakes we are making, are generally decorated with frosting and sprinkles. whereas, Muffins do not have a heavy frosting. Muffins are usually glazed or topped with powdered sugar.
- Muffins are comparatively lighter than most eggless cupcakes.
- Cupcakes are made like cakes and muffins are made Like bread. What I mean to say is, we use cake recipe to make cupcakes and bread recipes to make muffins.
