Potatoes Manchurian – A Valley of Rock and Water

Ingredients

  • 10 boiled Potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon grated Ginger
  • 1 sprig of Spring Onions
  • 1 tablespoon Corn Flour
  • 4 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon green chilly
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ajinomoto
  • ½ tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Refined oil
  • 2 teaspoons Chilly Garlic Paste

Directions

Step 1

Heat oil in a wok or a deep frying pan. Fry boiled potatoes till they turn crispy and golden brown. Remove them from heat on an absorbent paper.

Step 2

Add a teaspoon of oil in the pan again and let it heat. Now add green chilly, ginger,and  garlic and fry all the ingredients for not more than a minute. Add Ajinomoto, spring onions and salt to the pan.

Step 3

Turn the heat to low and move to the next step. Take a teaspoon of corn flour in a bowl and mix it with water to form a nice mixture.

Step 4

Now add Soy Sauce, Chilly Garlic paste, and sugar to the mix and stir the gravy till it thickens. Finally, add the corn flour mix and let it simmer for a few seconds.

Step 5

Add the fried potatoes to the gravy and give  a final stir. Serve hot.

Tip:

Garnish with chopped spring onions.
