Preparation work

Using a sharp knife, cut away each hard peel and the hard core in the middle of each pineapple slice to reveal a ring of golden pineapple flesh.

Sift all purpose flour, corn flour and all other powders (flax seed powder, cinnamon powder, baking powder, powdered sugar )and keep it ready.

  • Pineapple – 4 slices
  • All Purpose Flour – ¾ cup
  • Flaxseed Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder – 1 tsp
  • Vanilla Extract- 1tsp
  • Corn flour – 10g
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Refined Oil – for
  • Powdered Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – ½ cup


  • Now, transfer the sifted flour and powder mixture into a bowl.
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract and stir thoroughly to create a smooth, lump-free batter.
  • Let the mixture rest for 15 minutes
  • In a pan, heat up some oil.
  • Drop a tiny piece of batter into the oil to test if it is hot enough. The oil is sufficiently hot if it sizzles and rises to the top right away.
  • As you wait, dip each slice of pineapple into the flour batter and leave them carefully in heated oil one at a time.
  • Cook until brown and crispy on both sides.
  • Transfer the fritters to kitchen towel or absorbent paper to drain out the excess oil
  • Sprinkle the fritters with a layer of cinnamon powder and sugar.


To prevent fritters getting burnt oil should not be too hot
Enough oil should be used so that the pineapple slices are completely submerged while frying.

Serving Pineapple Fritters

  • Serve with a dollop of ice cream and some honey drizzled over it ! It will  taste like heaven !
  • You can also dip it in chocolate sauce or pineapple jam ( i used while making the recipe ) and add sprinkles to bring a donut feel .
  • If you don’t prefer deep frying you can either shallow fry or air fry them.
  • Try adding nutmeg powder in place of cinnamon powder to make it more flavorful
  • It is important to cook and serve pineapple fritters right away because they don’t keep well for a long time.
