Pizza Dough Recipe | How to Make Pizza Dough

  • Firstly, take some warm water in bowl and add ½ teaspoon of sugar to it.
  • Mix until the sugar to get dissolved properly.
  • Add 15 grams of fresh yeast and mix it well with the warm water and sugar solution.
    Tip: If you are using dry yeast, take 10 grams. Reason for this is dry yeast are stronger and needed in less proportion as compare to fresh one.
  • Now cover the bowl with cling film for better activating the yeast. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
    Note: If you don't have cling film, you kitchen cloth and place some heavy thing above it.
  • Take another bowl and add 2 cups of all purpose flour to it.
  • Now add salt to flour as per your taste, ½ tablespoon olive oil and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper powder (Optional)
    Tip: Adding black pepper to dough gives better taste but its optional.
  • Mix the above Dry content properly.
    Tips: You can either use spoon or hand mixer for mixing it.
  • After 10 minutes, when your yeast is activated. Pour the yeast content to Dry mixture progressively.
    Tip: Keep on adding small a portion of yeast mixture while simultaneously kneading.
  • Don't pour the yeast all at once. Keep on kneading in one single direction.
    Tips: Kneading in a single direction helps in creating volume to dough. Also, it allows the yeast to grow faster.
  • Add little water if needed.
    Tips: Take care not to tear the dough while kneading, as it affects the final finishing.
  • Furthermore, when kneading is done. Grease the bowl with some oil and place the dough in the bowl.
    Tips: Greasing prevents the dough from sticking to the bowl.
  • Furthermore, Cover the bowl with cling foil and leave it to ferment for 2 hours
    Tips: The dough could also be fermented overnight for better result.
  • After the fermentation period of over, remove the cling foil and form small balls for pizza base.
    Tips: While taking some portion of dough, oil your hands in advance.
  • Your Homemade Pizza dough is ready for making Pizza.

Notes

Note:
  1. Fresh yeast is used by professional and need to be frozen properly, If you are having fresh yeast stored for long in your fridge, there is possibility that it's not active anymore.
  2. If yeast is not active, it doesn't produce fermentation after adding to warm water.
  3. Dry yeast also need to be checked, although it is used in less amount.
  4. Longer the fermentation period better the dough, 2 hours is enough but overnight gives better results.
